All the time, I see people say "you must stop working part-time with your study permit once you receive your final grade."

I know that's generally true, but what is the definition of "receiving your final grade"?

According to the official website, Study permits: Off-campus work, it says:
"They may work until the first date they receive written confirmation of program completion from their educational institution (for instance, an email, a letter, a transcript or a diploma), provided their study permit remains valid during this period."

On another webpage, IRCC says:

"You must stop working once you’ve received your final grades."
So what is what?? The second one seems to be very specific that it's the "final grades," while the first one mentioned "written confirmation."

What about getting the final grade on the school's online system, like your student profile (e.g. UofT's ACORN, York's Passport York), but haven't receipt a confirmation letter, a transcript or any other from of formal confirmation? Can I still be working if my final grades are only up online on my student profile?

Thanks in advance!

The general standard people go by is no work after your formal date of program completion.
