I’m trying to understand how IRCC counts Canadian work experience. I currently have 98 weeks of experience in Canada, but I received an ITA and the system awarded me points for 2 full years under STEM.
If I wait another 6 weeks (which would still be within the 60 day submission period) and then submit my application after completing the full 2 years, would that be acceptable? Or would it be safer to decline the invitation?
I don’t believe I misrepresented anything, since the system only asks for month and year (not exact dates), and it appears that the points were automatically awarded in advance.
Could anyone clarify how IRCC treats this situation and what would be the safest approach? This whole process is quite confusing, especially how IRCC calculates work experience and awards points before the actual month is completed.

You are not alone; IRCC system gives points for 1 year CEC just after completing 11 months (48 Weeks) and 2 years CEC points just after 22 months (96 Weeks)
This is technical fault. But I am afraid, you will have to decline and wait for another ITA once you complete 104 weeks or 2 full years.

If you wait another 6 weeks and then submit the application after the full 2 years, that wont be eligible and it may get rejected. Since at the time of ITA you did not have full 2 years completed, even if you received ITA.

Better to raise a webform, but I am 100% sure that you cant submit your application with this ITA unfortunately.

I have seen many people receiving such ITA, and I knew and I always prayed that I don't fall in this technical pit.

But this is how the system awarded points right and this is a bit confusing since some say I can go ahead and wait for 6 weeks and submit the application, while others say it's better to decline

I would go with those who say decline and wait for the next ITA.
The reason is:

1- if you accept, you are not in the pool,
2- and if they reject your application, then you would have wasted time and IRCC may have one more reason to review deep your next application, it will not have any negative implication but just saying...why to create compliexity.
3- All of this assuming if they dont consider this as a misrepresentation.
4- if you already have good score, and good chance to get the ITA in the next draw, it would be better to wait for the next one.

this is my opinion, best decision only you can take.
