I’m trying to understand how IRCC counts Canadian work experience. I currently have 98 weeks of experience in Canada, but I received an ITA and the system awarded me points for 2 full years under STEM.
If I wait another 6 weeks (which would still be within the 60 day submission period) and then submit my application after completing the full 2 years, would that be acceptable? Or would it be safer to decline the invitation?
I don’t believe I misrepresented anything, since the system only asks for month and year (not exact dates), and it appears that the points were automatically awarded in advance.
Could anyone clarify how IRCC treats this situation and what would be the safest approach? This whole process is quite confusing, especially how IRCC calculates work experience and awards points before the actual month is completed.
