I started working in Canada on 16th May 2019. On 15th May 2020 morning can I answer YES to the EE profile question "has been working for the employer on their current work permit for atleast one year"? The reason I ask is if the draw happens later that day I can possibly qualify. 2020 was also a leap year, so 365 days complete on 14th itself.

Do anyone know of legal definition for 1 year whether it counts as 52 weeks of full time work (min 30 hrs) completion, or 365 calendar days or 1560 hours of work (counting not more than 30 days per week) or date on date from pervious year? If you know from your experience or point to some legal document, will be grateful.

52 weeks working 30 hours or more = 1560 hours. (52*30)

Thank you @Wolfpmd3 for taking time to respond. I will then on 15th Morning update the answer to YES for the question "has been working for the employer on their current work permit for atleast one year" so the 50 points will be added to my profile. Btw the EE profile already added points for my 1 year CEC. This would be for the additional 50 points on valid job offer as I'm on non-LMIA work permit.

To get the 50 points for arranged employment you need a letter from your employer stating you'll be employed for at least one year after you become a PR. This has to be stated explicitly.

52 weeks of 30 hrs or more is the requirement. Since you are on a non-LMIA work permit, make sure you meet the criteria for those 50 points. Typically, people on open work permit (includes PGWP) need a LMIA to claim the points for arranged employment.

On what basis was your work permit issued?

Mine is LMIA exempt and I'm continuing with the same employer. Hoping for the employer to provide the job offer with the needed wordings.

If you can demonstrate you have working with same employer before for years than one year offer letter should work. This is what I did , most of employers filing work permit extension won’t say these words in letter they give you. My colleagues got approved PR basis this

So you claimed additional points because your employer stated that he/she will employ you for at least one year?

This is helpful. Yes there are concerns in issuing letter with specific wordings. Fallback checking to provide just assignment letter so I can as well provide a LoE.
