Clarification needed on lease agreements - Toronto

Hi,
Most places I am looking at in Toronto mention that the rental apartment is available for 1 year lease.
My question is - should I wish to move out before the 1 year lease period - what are the reprecussions?

Also in general even if you have a 1 year lease term you have to give over 2 months notice if you plan on moving even if you are only staying for 1 year.
