I wonder why for some the procedure is faster than for others, I sent my aplication on Dec 2012 and they started the review of my case on march 2013, I have never traveled to my country, staying all the time in Montréal, I know a lot of friends that have already did the test even when they had traveled lot.
I called the cic last two weeks and they told me that my case is already in the local office and that soon I will receive the notification for the exam. I wonder if I had put something in my application that could delay my case?
The first year of my arrival in 2009 I received the aide social then I studied with the scholarship of the governement and then got a job, I am not planning to travel right now but we never know if something happen and I will have to return for and emergency. My PR card will expire in 2015 :-[
I know that i have to wait but for how much time?

The "80%" given in the CIC website reflects number of cases with decisions (either granted or not) within a recent time period or batch of application. This therefore does not mean "average" time for processing.

For a better breakdown of application timelines according to CIC, kindly check the CIC report on their target for cutting down the backlog:

In this report, the citizenship grant inventory as of Dec 2013 is broken down as follows:
46% of applications aged up to 1 year (12 months)
20% of applications aged 13-18 months
12% of applications aged 19-24 months
22% of applications aged more than 2 years

Hi Ximena,
Hard to say how each case is handled. Everyone in this forum are likely applicants and their impressions may not necessarily reflect actual CIC criteria.
Just get ready for your citizenship test. It helps a lot to take practice tests available on-line for free. In my experience, the actual test is in fact easier than online tests so if you ace the online tests then rest assured you'll be fine.
Chances are if you haven't traveled outside Canada since you became a landed immigrant then you'll likely get a decision sooner, right after you pass the test. While others like me have passed the test, we are are still awaiting final decisions to take the oath since our travels are being verified with the Canadian Border Services Agency. Those with whom I have gone on the test with, who didn't make out-of-Canada travels, were immediately given oath dates after their test results were ok.

Guys make sure you review your notes before posting. On the spread sheet #13 application received 6 jan 14 and test is on Mar 26 2014
woooooooow so 2 months and 20 days between the day they received application and the test date.
Maybe I'm wrong...

I had the file restored but it remains vulnerable so I had the original postings from yesterday backed up separately.
In fact a few minutes after restoration, someone is clearly intent on sabotage, and I saw the entries being wiped out in real-time.

Let me know if there are issues again. I can always put back the copy.

Just trying to add complete timelines with CIC location for now since I'm the only one who can edit the spreadsheet.
