1. Present law is 4 years residency in the 6 years after obtaining PR.

You must have been physically present in Canada as a permanent resident for at least 1,460 days during the six years immediately before the date of your application. You must also be physically present for at least 183 days during each of four calendar years that are fully or partially within the six years immediately before the date of application. These requirements do not apply to children under 18.

Exceptions to these requirements apply for certain Crown servants and certain family members of Crown servants.

When calculating how long you have lived in Canada, you can only count time spent after you became a permanent resident of Canada.

Find out if you have lived in Canada long enough to apply to become a citizen.

that means the time count before getting pr is not counted
after refugee approval i heard it will count as half????

That was under the old rules. It doesn't count under the current rules.

Hello Everyone! I am almost addicted to this forum I log in every single day to learn through others' progression on their status and application, here is my timeline one more time

Acknowledgement of receiving your application March 2015
Processing your application June 2015
More documents required Nov 2015
Medical Examination Received 2015
last letter sent by CIC was stating that "no further required documents" Just wait for decision to be made
by the way I am sponsoring my family abroad (Beirut, Lebanon)

and in line with your query for PR to Citizenship time calculation here I'm enclosing a link from CIC that states something different from what someone earlier said where it's believed now that we have 3 proposed Scenarios
a- Refugee PR counter begins upon receiving the PR
b- Refugee PR counter is counted half value from date of granting the refugee
c- and this is what this links suggests that PR counter begins since the day of granting Refugee cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5205ETOC.asp

Please read the CIC information and share your inputs

Many thanks

There's nothing about citizenship in the link you have provided. It's about applying for permanent residence for DFN people. They have to wait 5-6 years before applying for PR after their refugee status has been determined

Hello again,

please find the following quote from CIC "When does the five (or six) year period begin?

The five (or six) year period is counted from the date on which a final determination is made on the refugee claim or a pre-removal risk assessment (PRRA). Any application submitted before the five (or six) year period will be returned."

regards
