Citizenship Residence Calculator Error

Hi,

While using the residence calculator from CIC website, the absence calculation shows incorrect numbers specifically only half the absence duration instead the full duration. For example, the absence from April 4,2014 to April 25 2014 calculates as 10 days instead of 20 days.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you enter the date when you became the permanent resident correctly?

Everything (presences, absences) before that date is counted as a half day.

This is "normal" .
Days before becoming PR count as half days in the presence calculator. IRCC applies the same logic to days outside Canada before the PR.

Just keep in mind that you should count them yourself as full days for the police certificate in any country where you spent 183 days or more in the last 4 years.

Thank you all for the clarification. Yes it calculates as half day only for time frame before PR.

HI,
I need help too,
I have entered to Canada on Sep 5th 2014, then applied to protection status
I got hearing on Oct 27th 2014, and the decision document shown hearing date and letter date by Nov 12th 2014

so for days calculation which dates I need to use?
