Citizenship Ceremony In person

My dad got citizenship ceremony in person but he is not good in English. He is 69 years old. Can i assist him to in person ceremony i.e. until registration and all that. He is practicing oath already.

Do I need to request for accomodation from the office that sent in person ceremony invite?

Does anyone has any experience with this?

+1 for the above. Spam is not necessary.

As for the request itself, the official answer regarding accommodation : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ome-canadian-citizen/apply/accommodation.html

It's always a good idea to contact IRCC for anything specific.
That being said, in practice, it may not be needed. You should be able to stand next to your father in the waiting line before ID verification, before going to the room where the ceremony takes place. Your dad can then go with the flow for the rest, stay seated during the ceremony, stand when everyone else does, recite the oath at the same time at others, go grab the certificate when his name is called (in the order or the seating). He should manage even with limited English.

If you think he needs "serious" help, like some seating arrangement where you'll need to be next to him at all times , yes, contacting the office in advance is mandatory. The seats for citizenship applicants are numbered, and family and friends sit on a separate section (as long as there is room!), so if you need to be next to your dad, let them know.
