citizenship applications stuck for too long - Those with AOR before May 2025 - Let's gather here and update

- Applied / received: end of March 2025/ Vancouver

- Citizenship test: passed (20/20), late May 2025

- Fingerprints request and submitted- June 2025

- Fingerprints/Criminality (RCMP): passed July 2025 — clean, no record

- Residence + Language assessments: passed February 2026

- Security (CSIS): blank/redacted (s.15 / s.16), no movement

- File location: "Grant Clearance Pending" the whole time

- Last activity on file: Feb 2026 — silent since

I pulled GCMS notes twice. In the February pull, the CLEARANCE REQUEST(S) line read "RCMP/CSIS: Y." In a May pull, the same line read just "RCMP: Y" — CSIS dropped off. The Security assessment field is still blank/redacted in both.

Does this mean anything?

It's been 14 months of processing and it's getting very frustrating now.

Choose CSBA instead of IRCC when getting GCMS notes, ask for unredacted security info. But just a heads up, even you can see what's in there, it's not helpful at all.

Did anyone with a group (family) application request the stuck applicant to be split out? Any feedback on that and how long to expect this to take?

I requested GCMS Notes (ATIP) in May.
The latest update in that was on 27 Nov, 2025 and it says “CMB update requested”

What is this cmb update? Anyone heard of it?
And is this a standard procedure?
