Reminder: I am NOT an expert. I am NOT qualified to offer personal advice for an individual case.

I can offer the observation that generally RQ'd applicants will not be given urgent or expedited processing. Indeed, I do not know of anyone RQ'd whose application was urgently processed. Moreover, it appears that urgent processing is rarely given for any non-routine applications, with the exception, perhaps, of those which are non-routine due only to a Finger Print request.

Sure, you can make a request for urgent processing. IRCC instructions/information online states to do this using the Web form. See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/apply/urgently.html

But it is NOT likely IRCC will proceed with urgent processing.

That said, it is possible making the request for urgent processing might precipitate action on the application, which just possibly (albeit my sense is not likely) could mean the application is processed sooner.

Additionally, RQ does not always cause long delays in processing. It might. RQ'd cases typically take significantly longer. But there have been reports of RQ'd applicants proceeding to the oath with minimal delays. Remember, even for totally routine applications the timeline can vary considerably, many taking two or three times as long as some processed sooner. For non-routine applications, and especially so for RQ'd applicants, the timeline will vary even more widely.

There are rather few RQ'd applicants reporting much in the forum these days, so there is not much information available about current processing timelines.

Generally there is nothing an applicant can do to accelerate processing.[/user]

We just received the fourth line on Ecas about the date and time for the citizenship test on 7th June.

My question is that we are both above 55, so is this normal? Do seniors receive the same line and do we have to really give the citizenship test?

Please update.
