Citizenship Application Photo – Can the Studio Edit the Background to Pure White?

Quick question for anyone who has submitted a Canadian citizenship application — was the background of your photo completely white?

It seems hard to get such a clean white background straight out of the camera without some editing, but IRCC says the photo shouldn’t be digitally altered.

Did your photo studio edit the background at all, or did it come out pure white naturally? Anyone who’s successfully submitted theirs?

Photo studios are familiar with IRCC requirements. All you need to tell them is what the picture is for, and forget about the rest. And IRCC's job isn't exactly to pass the picture through some tool and validate that it's a pure triple 255 RGB white. Don't stress over it.
