Citizenship application for child born outside Canada

Do children born outside Canada also have to fulfil the residency requriments to become citizens? So my child was born in the US and I became a citizen 3 months after she was born. Can I go ahead and file for citizenship for her or she has to also wait 4 out of 6 years?

because you get the citizenship after she was born you should sponsor her first to come canada and after that you can apply for her citizenship directly after landing ( there is no residency requirement for children )
