hello....is there a thread or any link that tells us the difference between being a citizen of canada and a PR. i would like to know the facilities and benifits that one enjoys extra if he becomes a citizen.

You can hold a Canadian passport as a citizen (a PR cannot).

A PR must live in Canada two of out of every five years to maintain status (a citizen does not).

Citizens can vote (PRs cannot).

You must have citizenship to qualify for certain jobs (some government jobs, police).

Thanks Skylla. +1 to you for the help.

If you are a PR and is convicted with a serious crime, you could be inadmissible and immigration can start a removal order proceedings against you.
