Hello, I'm wondering how to fill out sections 8B and 11 of the CIT 0001e form (APPLICATION FOR CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE ). Both my parent and I were born outside of Canada.
For section 8B, my parent was born (to Canadian parents) outside of Canada and lived outside of Canada. Should I answer No to the question "Did parent 1 leave Canada for more than 1 year before 1977?" because they didn't live in Canada and therefore didn't leave? or yes because they were outside of Canada for more than one year.
For Section 11, I was born in 1976. However, I was not alive long enough to have been absent from Canada for more than one year prior to 1977. So again, should I answer No to the question "Were you absent from Canada for 1 year or longer before 1977?" Or should I answer yes and fill in my date of birth through the end of 1976 as time outside of Canada?
