CIC is fast...passport request within 3 months but we are in different countries

I got a letter from CIC to send my and spouse passport to CPC-Ottawa in one self-addressed, pre-paid envelope.
However my spouse is in India and I am in Canada and it is illegal to bring passport via courier.

What shall I do?
I have 30 days to submit them.

please share your opinions or experience.

It isn't really illegal, the authorities frown upon such movement - search for a post by legalfalcon. That apart, you can either get the passport FedExed to you in Canada or raise a CSE requesting IRCC to allow your spouse to complete the formalities at NDVO.

or send it through a reliable and trustworthy person who's coming to India.

u can send passport through DHL courier from india.. thy send passport from india thy are legal carriers or else u can submit wife passport in delhi VO through VFS , but u should send letter to |CIC that my spouse is in india and she has to submit passport in delhi VO...
