Discussion in 'Education' started by sm9, Jul 23, 2014.

  1. Hi Folks,

I am HR professional with MBA in HR from India. I have over 8 yrs of experience in the same field..

I would want to know some courses for HR professionals like CHRP which can help immigrants in the job search.

Also, it would be great if someone can suggest few online courses in HR which I can enroll from India...

Any help wl b highly appreciated...
  2. hi, can you please share your journey to find a job and if certification like CHRP is really required? Thanks in advance
  3. The university of Toronto school of continuing studies offers some courses for the CHRP designation. Read more about it at https://learn.utoronto.ca/programs-courses/association-partnerships/2747/certified-human-resources-professional-chrp ; some courses are available online.

For the CHRP requirements please check on the HRPA website at https://www.hrpa.ca/

I would recommend to take a look at the UofT Human Resources Management Essentials (https://learn.utoronto.ca/programs-courses/certificates/human-resources-management-essentials). After completing the Human Resources Management Essentials course, and two electives, you can obtain this certificate which can show potential employers that you are serious about this field and you are taking action to get up to date with Canadian standards and regulations in terms of HR. This can be completed in six months, or even shorter, if you can start the HRM course online prior to landing.

HR however is more about networking, so once you become a resident just make sure you start building your network with other recruiters through LinkedIN and other online/offline platforms.
