Hello,
I am in my first steps in applying in the immigration and do not know if I should apply as worker or self-employed. I have B.Sce. in agriculture but I had art activities since I was young, so I become graphic designer and now I have 10 years experience as graphic designer, technical evangelist and speaker in the design related field. I consulted someone and he told me that it does not matter what is you work experience, as my basic study is different than my career, I will not got the chance to apply in the worker track. Please advice on this?

P.S. I have technical certification that proof my expertise in the software I work with.

I am also author in the technology field and have a published book and articles and I noticed that Canada accepted the immigration as self-employed for authors. Is it possible to apply as self-employed? my activities include joining design associations and providing support to the design community around the world.

Please advice on the above.

Thanks alot and appreciate your help.

Best,
Rafiq
