Hello Friends,
ITS URGENT PLEASE!!!!

I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I am in a dilema. I was refused for the choice of inappropriate subject i.e. a diploma programme..I have completed the 10+2 in science stream. I have 82% in SLC and 74% in 10+2 (Secondary Level). I have 7.5 in IELTS, not less than 7 band score in each band.

Recently I got Visa refusal letter from New Delhi Visa Office saying that:

"Your Proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, Level of establishment, other education oppertunities available in India or Canada, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans."

I had applied to study Bio technology technician (Endustrial Microbiology ) 2 Years Course in Centennial College. I think " inappropriate subject".

Now i am planning to apply again since this was the only reason shown...I have found advanced diploma programmes (3 Years), will it work if i choose an advanced diploma programme?? Or do I essentially go for the degree?? What is the difference??...and there are other programmes such as under graduate.... which will be the best option ? Please suggest if anybody has any idea....I desperately need your help...

in my view biotechnology is for both engg&medical stream......so it would be better if u go for field completely related to medic....and apply for a advncd diploma i suggest it

change the course........to be frank advanced diplomas are worth than a degree

Thank you RNK, It would be great, if other friends could also add some views.
Thank you once again

Hi, RNK

Can you describe it how advance diploma 3 years course is better than a degree 4 years course? There was only the single reason I refused is inappropriate subject so I am worrying?

well.... a student who pursued advanced diploma has more value than a normal degree student........not approx but it is being said that a advncd diploma student is paid 12% more than a degree student....advncd diploma in many cases has many work terms and gives work experience to students while studying.....better u see the college website for detailed information about your course

I thin Degree is always better than diploma in the long run.

Dear friends,

Again I am being confuse.

Please give me the proper idea......please.

Thank you

Actually three year diploma is equal or some times worth more then degrees. I had completed a 3 year diploma and now doing a certification for one year.

Most jobs are advertised as diploma or degree and a few with just degree

I said degree from my experience...I have been working here in US for 6 years now with a degree and i have a co worker who is working for 25 years with a diploma .... I am a Sr engineer where as the co worker is just engineering technician by title. there is of course pay scale difference too. SO this is just my experience .

For sure it really depends, I am working for a big ad agency in Toronto as accounts co-ordination. Most employers see that a college offers more piratical learning.
