Im in canada he is in china. We are married. I send his application for permanent resident in mississauga. They accept i sponsor my husband the 19 august. they send it after to beijing and they recived the 15 septembre. They sent a letter to my husband the 29 septembre. When do we need to start to count the 9 month of application prossessing time?

When i check the application, they write on the web site (during 3 month now) they received they medical exam. But what happen next?

step 1: we received your aplication
step 2: we received the medical exam.

After no news nothing. When i call mississauga they say call beijing. But when we call beijing no one answer.

Last question, Is that real it takes 9 month to received an answer?

It is normal not to hear anything until they start to process his application but it can move very fast once they start. I guess you will hear something soon if you don't have red flag.

Good luck

My understanding is that the 9 month processing time estimate begins with the day they receive your application in Beijing.., though this is how our application progress was (is) shown on ECAS;

We received your application for permanent residence on February 24, 2014.

Medical results have been received.

Interview scheduled for December 15, 2014.

We started processing your application on December 15, 2014.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

You entered Canada at the Vancouver International Airport office on December 25, 2014 and became a Permanent Resident.

Similar situation for us, but a little longer period. I was very frustrated with the months and months of no news. In our situation, there was no updates for the longest time and then it all comes out in the end in the time period they mention.

Seems the Beijing Office doesn't update applicant's status very much at all - ours, too was only updated after the fact..

Beijing VO doesn't provide phone call service for PR so they won't answer your PR question even your phone call gets through.

But you can send case specific enquiry at :
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=beijing&_ga=1.80328599.1279144397.1419285606

They always reply but it has to take about one week.

Good luck

We never received any "regular" mail from Beijing, or Mississauga either. All correspondence was email. From what I understand postal letters are almost unheard of in China (according to my wife)

Maybe this has something to do with selecting "preferred method of contact" on one of the forms in the application... can't remember which one, but we would have selected "email" - but definitely haven't received any correspondence through either Canadian or China's postal system.

"They accept i sponsor my husband the 19 august. they send it after to beijing and they recived the 15 septembre."

Of the three people on this forum who reported getting SA around the first week of August after which the file was sent to Beijing, they got AOR2 (acknowledgement of receipt from the overseas visa office) between September 19 and September 26. So you're looking fine here so far. Remarkably fast, even, fast enough that I wonder if you got an early AOR2 because of the possibility Beijing sends out an AOR earlier for files they consider incomplete on first glance in order to have more time to get replies from those people.

"They sent a letter to my husband the 29 septembre."

Whoa, wait a minute. What did this letter say??? All 7 responses in the Beijing spreadsheet say they got a passport request (PPR) from Beijing within 3 weeks of AOR2. This might have been a PPR. More likely, just given the whole picture in your case, it was a request for documentation, like getting the medical done or they identified an issue with your husband's Chinese documents.

"When do we need to start to count the 9 month of application prossessing time?"

From August 19, unless there was a request for more documentation or some other problem. I'll add that Beijing seemed to be moving very fast on straightforward files it received about the time of yours, with COPR coming just 3 or 4 months after the file was transferred from Mississauga. The "9 month" guideline is for 80% of cases, meaning the majority of cases don't take that long.

Again, you need to tell us what was in that September 29 letter. Why was there that communication from Beijing two weeks after Beijing acknowledged receipt? It didn't concern scheduling an interview?

If what you're in fact trying to say here is that there was only one communication from Beijing in September and it was DATED September 15 and RECEIVED September 29, the time the letter was received doesn't matter. You're just going to have to wait as it's been 5 months, not 9. Having said that, Beijing's reported practice is to update your ECAS status online to "in process" within two weeks of AOR2 so I concluded that if you still are not "in process", there were two communications in September and we need to know about the second one.

In the past a long period of no contact from Beijing has generally meant that they intend to interview your spouse and you are in the que waiting for your appointment.
