From what I've heard is that 15 days is usually enough time. it's been 10 days for us.

Also, they have not changed the listed address to our eventual Canadian address yet.

Hopefully everything is ok.

For us, the home address was changed on August 31; 11 days after DM2.

Today, was our 32nd waiting day for the Visa!

File was transferred to Beijing on Aug 27, almost a month, still no updates on ecas, should I be worried (aside from being already pissed off   )?

We received xxxxxxxxxxxx's application for permanent residence on July 17, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

Any idea about the current turnaround time to start looking at a file?

I sent a case specific enquiry to the HK visa office and three days later e-cas changed to 'in process'...funnily enough, the PPR letter was sent out prior to my sending the enquiry...

I suggest contacting them to ask them to update e-cas to reflect what is happening with your application.

Okay, wife's 'getting ready' so I still (lots) have time ;)

We received her PR today from Beijing (we also live in Beijing) ~80 days after submitting her passport. By the sounds of it, no one received anything during July-August. Considering that the embassy staff get both Chinese and Canadian holidays, as well as their 3-6 weeks personal holidays/sick time, I think it's safe to say nothing was happening in the embassy for 2 months. I can't imagine that it will continue to take so long to process, especially when - in our case - it is post IAD-ADR appeal, and CIC's own legal counsel has advised them to proceed with processing the PR.

Anyway, here's a summary of our nightmare scenario that has finally come to a conclusion. Those of you getting impatient can have a look and be thankful you didn't run into our IO (in fact, she was a designated immigration officer - DIO. There's a difference) or the China Post staff that didn't bother to call and notify us that we had a package from the embassy waiting.

Initial application sent to Immigration Canada: November 2010 (yes, that's not a typo: 2010)
Interview Date: March 15, 2011 (Declined - various reasons, mostly the DIO didn't ask any questions about our relationship and then claimed "details of the relationship were vague")
Decision Appealed: April 2011
IAD Hearing: November 3, 2011
Appeal Allowed: November 3, 2011
Immigration Documents Received by CIC: December 15, 2011
Post-appeal notification documents lost by China Post: Jan/Feb 2012
Updated background/medical/criminal records delivered: July 3, 2012
PR Received: Sept. 22, 2012

From our 2 year experience, not surprisingly, I have lots of opinions on how the whole the system operates, but I will save those for I have a bit more time. Hope everyone else's experience is a bit more smooth. Will still be checking.

Our case arrived in Beijing on June 19 and we received DM2 on August 20, so 2 months after. I don't know if they've asked you for the passport as it was asked on June 26 for us.

But, since then, Beijing processing time has been changed from 5 to 7 months so it may take longer for you to receive an answer.

Like they told us on the email we received last Monday, just be patient...

What package was waiting at China Post? I thought the Beijing VO uses EMS to deliver all their material. When you contacted China Post did you just ask them if they had anything under your name or address?

The HK visa office sends the passport via registered mail...so it might be the same for some going through Beijing. Usually they will put a slip in your mailbox telling you to go and collect your package (must bring valid ID).

I'm going to find the link, but I'm almost certain I read that the Beijing VO only uses EMS, so I'm guessing maybe they have changed that policy.

Yea, what i heard from my wife, there was a guy was asked for ppr 8 days after he received his stage 2 AOR and one other guy was asked 2 weeks after stage 2 AOR, so i hopefully we get ours soon.
and yes we received our AOR by email, the applicant's email only.

hope you get yours soon too :)

It is what they told us (EMS) in their last email about documents sending. So I guess it is for everything.

My wife has just informed me that a few people who got their DM2 at the end of August got their passports back on Friday. Hopefully, that trend will continue this week before the week long National Day holiday starts.

Keep your fingers crossed.
