Ni Hao,
There are some cases buried deep in all the threads here - I've read (not recently) and observed profile info that indicates Beijing timelines can be as quick as three 3 months from the time that sponsorship was approved, to as much as 9 months..., with not much explanation as to why the big difference in timelines - only speculation.

I got the link you included to open fine and Google Chrome does the auto-translation, but yes, I also find even Chinese-to-English translations are not-so-easy to fully comprehend sometimes.

My wife (in Hebei) received a letter on the 24th stating that her application had been officially received and included the usual information about how to check her status and what to expect, etc.. not any real concrete specifics about our "Case Specific" as one would assume from the wording. All the content of the letter is just the typical form letter generated by the actual opening of the application by a VO at the Embassy..

We're waiting for the request of her passport as a real indicator of status (and process.) The Online "Client Application Status" system (https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=) has never been much help, as far as real timeline detailed information goes. I've rated it as such in the feedback request when you logout - maybe if enough people voice this frustration clearly, they'll make some efforts to give some more detailed 'case by case' assurances to the many people who only have this feature to base their future planning and scheduling on. It really is a weak link in the whole process of an important life change for many people. I would like to imagine that each case could be simply updated by the attending VO.. I'm not a programmer, but the very sparse and limited information that is available with that link has been uploaded by someone - maybe an assistant to the VO..? They could do better - I think. Sorry if I sound like I'm ranting. It's all such a slow and antiquated process :-X

I'll wade through some of Chinese site, and also ask my wife if there's any new timeline cases she's happened upon. She did say yesterday that in her reading various Chinese forums (maybe including the one you listed) that things seem to be in general moving more quickly in Beijing recently ::)

Good Luck with it all!

Thanks. I totally agree with you.
We have already sent the passport so hoping for approval quickly. Our SA was in March so hopefully we can get it before June like you mentioned.

Good luck to you, good luck to us all

Oh, I didn't realize you'd already sent your passport... How soon after your AOR in Beijing did they request the passport?
I just spoke with my wife and she has just read that some were approved within 3 weeks of receiving the passport!

Do you think you could post the direct link to the most applicable thread?

Thx

Hi again,
don't know if you're still about - but here is a specific link (look to the profiles; "puppy71" and "ice happy356") that might be of help to assess your timeline; http://forum.iask.info/threads/%E3%80%90%E6%9C%80%E6%96%B0%E8%BF%9B%E5%BA%A6%E8%A1%A8%E3%80%912014%E5%B9%B44%E6%9C%88-2012%E5%B9%B47%E6%9C%88%E8%BF%9B%E5%BA%A6%E8%A1%A8%EF%BC%9B%E5%90%8C%E5%AD%A6%E4%BB%AC%E9%83%BD%E6%9D%A5%E8%B7%9F%E5%B8%96%E6%9B%B4%E6%96%B0%E8%BF%9B%E5%BA%A6.639890/page-347

Hi everyone,

I'm Chinese currently living in the U.S. CIC request for my birth certificate. But I was told that I don't have one since I was born in the 80s. And in that period there was no such a thing. I don't know if that's true. Anyway, how did you guys obtain the birth certificate in China for CIC?

Thank you!!!

What I got the first time was a notarized document, not the original birth certificate. I just wonder if that is ok. I have to provide it again because CIC asked for it for the interview.

Thank you for your information!

My Chinese wife got a notarized and officially translated statement from the municipal offices where she was born in the '60's, and so far, we are accepted through the sponsorship approval stage..

I applied on April 7 and received AOR email on May 22 (45 days). My wife is in SH so probably BJ will be the office visa for her

Hard to tell.. looks like Shanghai is almost exactly halfway between Hong Kong and Beijing - though Beijing is maybe a hundred miles closer, so yes probably Beijing. Hong Kong is 2 months quicker in their process. Hope for that chance! :)

Any China Applicants active here with profile timelines or experiences to share? Hoping to give my spouse some assurances that she hasn't missed an email request for her passport. Do they phone her to? (she had some minor problems with an unrelated lost email recently.) Does anyone know if the ECAS status shows any changes when the passport request is emailed? If not, is there a recommended method of checking on application status details such as this? Thanks much for any replies
