Frege they have never told me any of that info at any stage of my application. I have emailed the too, when he was born and they said to add him to the application! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.

What about my time frame though? I could not possibly relocate to Canada within 1 month!

I'm afraid that, to the best of my knowledge, you have to face a choice of either moving to Canada by the expiry date or re-applying for permanent residence.

You can probably travel back to the UK to tie up loose ends, but you'll need to look into the tax and customs effects of this with more qualified people.

My wife had to fill out a customs form called a B4. This included a list of "goods to follow". This was for property she wasn't bringing into the country with her right at that moment, but that she was going to bring in later.

Again Frege. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.

You're welcome. Please let us know how things go.

One more thing. Check all this out with the visa office through a case-specific inquiry. But don't wait for the answer before you start moving on other things.

Yeah, I've sent them a couple case specific enquiries and also left a voicemail pleading for a call back. We've looked forward to getting this for ages and now it's just causing trouble.

As they haven't processed my sons application and we now have to get citizenship, are we eligible for a refund for his application?

I would imagine you should be, yes. All else is under control is it? You have confirmed you just have to get his citizenship??

They haven't mentioned anything at all about his citizenship. We were advised by an immigration consultant (that we never used) that our son would need PR. We applied for it all and paid all the fees including his. Now we are having to pay for citizenship following advice from this forum. They haven't given him PR and haven't denied it either. Just not acknowledged his application.

Hi, This may not be the issue at all, but did you list your son on the original PR application as "accompanying" or "non-accompanying"?

Best of luck to you

Certainly for the "right of permanent residence fee". Not sure about the application fee - you might be able to find the answer somewhere here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/

(Sorry, I haven't had time to look through them.)

I'll just add that because RPRF isn't required for dependent children, if you did pay it, it will definitely be refunded. It might be a bit harder to get the processing fees back. CIC's position is that if they have started to process the app, they will not refund those fees. Have a look here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=619&t=4
