Hi guys,

What is the online method to check the status of your application. Are there more than one method to check the status of your application? Is there a way to make a MyCIC account, and somehow link your paper application there, so you can see the messages exchanged or the notes the Immigration Officers are making in the file?

Thanks in advance.

There is a Link Application to MyCIC account. Would that give more information than the normal way to access your application online?

Somebody told me that if you do this, and you pay 5 dollars, you receive the notes that the immigration officials place in your file. On an ongoing basis. I find that hard to believe ...

Interesting. So if I link the application, then I can pay 5 bucks to have the notes sent to me? Online, after I log in? Sorry, I am new to all of this.

And is there any REAL advantage in linking the application, rather than receiving messages through email? I already have the email registered with them. Is linking a better method?

Linking the application doesn't have anything to do with ordering the notes on your case.

It is slightly better. You get an e-mail when your status has changed whereas with Ecas, you don't. It updates a couple of days sooner than with Ecas. And it shows approval or not instead of just saying decision made.
