Check cashed by Sydney,NS? What does it mean?

Hi guys,
My application reached to Sydney,NS on 1st May. I found that my check was cashed on 22nd May.

I jus want to know what does it mean?
Did they finish eligibility review?
When they cash it? Do they cash it only if eligible? When should I expect AOR?

Hi, it only means that they have received your application and the fee you sent was the right amount.

In my opinion, they will encash the chq/dd only when they accept the form, or else they'ld return it back.

Vishals,

When Sydney gets your application, they check it for completeness, if your app. is incomplete they return everything to you including your check. Otherwise, your check will be cashed while they do the eligibilty review. If you are ineligible your fee will be refunded.

So a cashed check only means that your application is complete.

To d best of my knowledge,A cashed check means ur application is complete and u r eligible to send ur application and documents to d local consulate,u should b hearing from them very soon,they wudn't cash ur check if u were not eligible instead ur package wud b returned to u with a letter stating why it is being returned.hope this helps.

checks are cashed no matter if you are eligible or not. If when they review application - you are ineligible- they will initiate a refund.

Every DD recieved by visa office or sydney is cashed, usually if the appliaction is complete, whether the application is elligible to be processed or not. They do it before any review of the application.

It may happen that Visa officer find the application incomplete or inelligibility while reviewing it. In that case they will return application initially and later the refund.

In AOR they only mention that they received application. DD is cashed before issuing AOR.

If they refused the application to process at the first stage (38 NOC list, points etc. ground) they will return the application and the refund later (ie, 3-4 weeks). If the appliaction is refused at any later stage no refund is allowed, probably no documents is returned as well.

If your application does not qualify for processing under the Ministerial Instructions you will be sent a letter that:

provides details on the reason why your application is not eligible for processing
confirms that a refund for the processing fee will be issued

They will issue a refund (as opposed to returning your check) Clearly, your check will be cashed before they determine if you qualify.hope this helps.

You check is cashed no matter what as long as all the forms are there. They will then look at it for eligibility. If you do not qualify after that, a refund will be given, which takes a few weeks.
