I highly doubt having something on Pakistani shows would make any difference.

I think it is not realistic approach to have something on Pakistani show where it has no impact on Canadian government policies.

We should try to get as much supposrt and head count from people on these forums, try to get friends and family on board and book a meeting with MP or immigration minister.

Something like town hall meeting where 100+ people can show up and raise this with Minister or MP.

I think first we should start gathering people and make sure we are all on same page.

If anything has to be done then it should be here in Canada. It is not Pakistani government issue where Supreme court of Pakistani can take suo-moto.

We have to take realistic approach on how to persue this rather than being idealistic.

I think we should do whatever we can. And this is the issue faced by OSPS so I think Pakistani government must play a part in resolving it. just my point.

Sure, I am up for anything. Its just that I am from Calgary area so we cant really launch a protest here. I believe mostly people are from Toronto so they should go ahead with the peaceful protest.

Also would like to thanks people who have shared their dates which has really helped figuring the direction processing time is taking.

Medical, Jan 2012 (Now expired)
Applied Feb, 2012
File Transfer May 2012 (got email from ottawa email address)

In november contacted my MP and found application is still sitting is Mississauga. I was told they do not know why. Later the immigration officer told MP that everything is alrite and it is in process (the standard statement they give to everyone)

Few details my MP gave:

It is good that file is transferred to Ottawa
Ottawa works on checks and later sends application to Islamabad
Apparently data is shared using centralized system which means docs are available to Ottawa and ISL

What I did to meet wife:
Visit visas for USA are not a problem these days from Pak. If you have someone where your spouse can stay in US then make them get visit visa. atleast you can meet very often that way.


I wish and pray everyone get updates on their Applications quickly.

2. If you guys are serious about raising our collective voices I'm in. Let's get our voice heard. We need numbers and influence. In my opinion we should be targeting our local media before any foreign outlets. I think the Olivia chow idea was a good one or if we have the numbers let's call jkenney... Anyways I'm in.

Yes, I think we really need to do something productive about this scam against pakistani's regarding our timeline. They are doing this on purpose, they is no rationale reason to the increase. Im in, i say we go after kenny and show him the injustice.

We need to do same so that it shows more people are concerned. I can make a temporary webpage if it is needed. I am new in Canada (Montreal) so I don't know Pakistani communities, so if there are any Pakistani organization get them involved and lets protest in large numbers in the Capital.

I would recommend organizing something in Toronto instead of Ottawa because there are more chances of ppl meeting up in Toronto(GTA) then in OTTAWA.

Hey Honey Well 82, The list for new applicants for 2012 has initiated by khalaifa5 and I will certainly follow with this list and make changes ahead when changes occur with each applicants.

I don't know how effective these petitions are, but it doesn't hurt to take part in them. We need to show solidarity with numbers andwe need to tell the government that if they want our vote, they need to listen.

Some options for helping our cause:

* Letters\Emails\Faxes to Canadian Politicians
* Letters to Pakistani Officials to boost security and cooperation with Canada(Canadian government blames the security situation in Pakistan for the delays)
* Organized Street Protests
* Emails\letters\Faxes to Canadian Media (i.e. Newspapers)
* Petitions

It doesn't matter what route we take, we need to stick together.
