Mine was transferred in Jan 2012, so should i contact Ottawa to remind them??? its driving me crazy since the timings for ottawa is 12 months...

I got a call from my MP's office.

Here are a few key takeaways from our conversation:

- The approximate timeline for Pakistani applications in Ottawa is 18 months (Stage 2).
- First review will be done around the 15 month mark.
- All correspondence has to be conducted with Ottawa and not Islamabad.

That's for my application: Submitted - Nov '11. Stage 2 started - Jan '12.

Be patient. And why blame just Canada? Has anyone ever thought about the folks who run the show in Pakistan? And Afghanistan is not even in a position to have its own CHC!

Be patient. Thank God for what you have(if you have faith in Him). And He will reward you.

Im worried my hubby's pp is expiring in March and CHC has it he send it by mistake... and no news of anything we dint even get ppr

Does it make a difference if the sponsor is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident?

It does make a difference. Only if you have been in Canada for a couple months and you sponsor your spouse then the process time is quicker. This is because you are still a part of immigration and when you sponsor your spouse it's quicker, My lawyer said for most cases like that it takes less than 9 months. However, if you are a permanent resident and have been living in Canada more than 1 year, it doesn't make a difference.
