Has your husband traveled a lot? My passport has been with them for almost 5 months as well. My wife contacted the mp from Pakistan but no update as yet.
I sent an email to (Case-Review-im-enquiry @ cic.gc.ca). they took a couple months to reply, and even then they just said that islamabad is probably not returning the passport becuase of background checks done by 3rd party vendors. They also said if I wanted my passport back (for travel or anything) I should contact islamabad directly. But after it's been this long, any email from anyone is good to see.

Yes my husband was wrking in Saudi arabia. But when they asked his passport he had to leave his job to send them the passport. he was in KSA for 3 yrs. But travel history has nothing to do with holding back the passport. bc I have seen cases.

Hi Laila - how did CHC Islamabad notify him of PPR? Via telephone or mail? If mail, was it courier or regular mail? Also, why did he have to leave his job? Could he not somehow send his passport to Pakistan for stamping passport? I am asking these questions as my spouse is also in GCC so similar situation.

For those friends that recently got GCMS notes: In the 'Authority to Release Personal Information' form to be filled by person being sponsored, what did you enter for "Name of Office where the application was submitted"? Did you put CPC Mississauga or did you put Islamabad/Ottawa where the applicant's file has been sent to?

For those friends that recently got GCMS notes: In the 'Authority to Release Personal Information' form to be filled by person being sponsored, what did you enter for "Name of Office where the application was submitted"? Did you put CPC Mississauga or did you put Islamabad/Ottawa where the applicant's file has been sent to?

Imm5475 have to fill by sponsored and sign by both.
Imm 5563 have to fill by sponsor.

Visa office name should be Islamabad or Ottawa depend where ever your file now.

I was talking to an immigration consultant today. He said that each and every case is different....circumstances are different...even the visa officer is different for different cases. So, my guess is that our timelines are different because of different visa officers and their varrying attitudes when it comes to judging marriages. I know of at least 5 Nikah only cases all of whom applied after me and their passports have arrived with visa.

I have a feeling that I am stuck with a particularly stubborn visa officer. Nevertheless, i hope for the very best, Insha Allah!

Our timeline is similar and i m quite sure our immi offiicer is da same...n very lazy!!

Hello all, wanted to mention that I have also offically joined the CIC waiting game as I have submitted my application to sponsor my wife from PK on Jan. 9th. Plz remember us in your prayers!

Question regarding mailing the application:
I sent my application to CPC-M on the 9th expected delivery was yesterday but still not delivered. online tracking shows it went "out for delivery" yesterday at 10:10am & no updates after

I used Canada Post Xpresspost w/ signature & mailed it to the P.O. Box address found in the guide.

Did I just delay my mail? I have now read other posts saying that regestered mail requiring signatures to CPC P.O. Box usually get delivered in a week or so.

Any experiences fellow members had, either positive or negative?
