2-3 weeks is not true for sure. I think its 6 months limit on PR. I can be wrong though but I know for sure that its definately not 2-3 weeks that they allow you.

Thanks for reply. I have to find out this that how long i can stay outside of canada when my husband sponsorship case is in process n i am on PR with one year maternity leave

If you, the person sponsoring the spouse, is a Permanent Resident then you cannot live in Pakistan while application is going on. However if you are citizen then you can but most people recommend not staying in Pakistan for longer than 3 months as it can raise an objection from CHC that you are not planning to re-settle back in Canada. And they may ask you to provide proof of intention to settle back in Canada which can be letters from family and friends and affidavits or lease of house rent or owning properties in Canada etc.

Hmmm but my resedency days are over and i have applied for citizenship n its in process since June

yar ab tu remedical karae 3 .5 months ho gaye hn but lagta ha is saal tu wo PPR ni bhejein ge . but i m hopeful in first quarter of next year.

, it depends on case to case basis.
Let me share my experience , my wife live with me after filing the case for 5.5 months , and till now they dont question about it. and hope in sha allah they will not.
For retaining PR status , u have to live total 730 days in canada in total in five year span period.
But one must not live more than 6 months outside canada.

Last time they told me Medical results have been received and the file is in quenue for review by decision making officer. My question is how much do we have to wait before we get passport.

Would anyone like to tell me where to send the material like pics, airway tickets, etc because i have applied in august 1, 2012 ad my spouse visited me again after we filed our application. I wanna send them some more proves which would assist me to strengthen my case, inspite of they haven't asked to provide more proves.

In full marriage case i think one should not send anything voluntarily untill they ask for that.
However in nikah only case , one should provide proof of rukhsati and other stuff voluntarily.
bcz in full marriage cases if we send them proof voluntarity will indicate our curiosity and haste which might create suspicion in their tiny minds.
So i suggest nikah only cases would send supporting stuff voluntarily not in full marriage.
