It's my advice to all who are planning to get married to a canadian settler, never ever ever ever tell anyone about your plans to get settled in canada with your spouse, not even to your saggay rishteydaars. now they will call ur wife on monday... me and fozi already got the call that if we had our medical done... just yasirman left.. i wonder what does his status say now.. he didnt update anything lately...

This applies to Canadian citizens as well. I lost my case in 2006 ,when the processing times were only six months on similar grounds ,that my Canadian spouse was living in Pakistan with me and the Immigration Officer asked me in the interview to satisfy him that my sponsor shall reside in Canada ,once i become a permanent residence. (He needed a proof of hiring a
flat ,or admission in Canada ,or a future job offer from Canada from my spouse).
Latter we filed an appeal with the Immigration Appeal Division Toronto and also hired a flat and after two years in 2008 got a letter from IAD-Toronto that the case has been abandoned as you failed to arrange calling cards for hearing of the case through conference call. We never received that letter from IAD in which they had asked for arranging the calling cards.

We have again applied in 2011 and am praying to Allah to forgive our sins and make us sucessful this time in getting the PR status.

This rule of being outside canada during your spouse's immigration applies to citizens also or only PR?

fozi mere husband ko b yehi sab kuch sune ko milta hai.. ke us ne apply hi nai kiya ya lawyer hire karti to itna time nahi lugta.. aur b ulte siday ideas dete hain ke apni biwi ko bolo ke doctor ke pas ja ke note lika kar beje aur pata nai kia kia.. at first my husband did get influenced by this and it started to have a negative impact on our relationship.. but over time mere husband ko ehsas ho gaya hai ke un logo ke dil kalay hain aur wo chehte hi yehi hain ke hum dono mai problems hoon aur immigration ka case kharab ho jaye.. but still people don't give up.. they keep on trying.. it's so disgusting.. bhee ja kar apna kaam karo humari jaan choro .. Allah miya humai hosla day ke hum is muskil waqt ko kaat sakay.. aur jaldi hi durian khatam ho jayain...

very true. pakistan mein logon k paas aur kaam hi koi nahin hai. mere hsuband se sab kehte hain k tumhari biwi ne apply hi nahin kiya ho ga. tabhi nahin aya visa abhi tak warna itna time nhin lagta(well they know it better k kitna time lagta hai). afte my 1st visit of application filed loog mre hsuband ko kehte hain k tumhari biwi tumhe choor k chali jati hai, kud hi ati hai chali jati hai aur tumhe bulana hi nahin chahti. kya kar sakte hain hum loog intzaar hai kab visa aae aur kab logon k munh band hoon. simply just jealous. kisi ko hamare visa se gharz nahin hai wo loog jealous hain espically if our partners r really understanding nd loving

dear sister the same thing happend to me in after my wedding ....actually i telll you one thng the closest relatives which are interacted to us like parents and siblings they start to have a feeling k lo ab biwi a gai to us se baat hi ho rahi hai hamare lye to time hi nahin hai....bahar wlon ko to apni naak ghusani hi hoti hai ohhhhh larki canada ki hai wow mere shair ab tu bhi canada jaye ga .........i just cant believe how i faced last 1.5 year and still facing it too....its a v v v long story and ppl at work agar un ko pata lag jaye jase i was honest i told them ...they just took k yeh to chala jaega kisi larki k sahare agay barhna nahin chahye ....kya kuch nahin suna yaar i have all my sympathies with you.....Allah help us ameen

exactly same story. even my husband said k jasi loog baatein karte hain lagta hai k sahi keh rahe hain but MashAllah my husband is so loving nd caring. nd he understands it. kuch loog jo k shadi se pehle phone tak nhin kiya karte the jab apply kiya to rooz phone kr poochte hain k kya bana nd jaan bojh k susral wle cahte hi nahin hoon ge isliye abhi tak gae hi nahin. ab to frnds yeh b keht hain k udhar jao ge to biwi kaam karwae gi aur bartan bi dulhae gi. itna kuch ho raha hai loog itni baatein suna rahe hain k I just want i to be over soon. According to my knowledge, you can declare your possessions worth any amount. They don't charge custom duty on your gold at the time of immigration. You just have to declare that at the time of immigration. Take pictures of your jewelry with you, along with receipts. An interesting thing i got to know recently is that you may declare all your possessions to the officer at the airport even if they are not with you physically. You may bring those things with you later. Although, be careful with the gifts you are taking with you, because they do charge duty if they cross a certain limit. I'm sorry I forgot the limit.
