CHC, Islamabad Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2011 -2012

Salam brother and sisters Im new here and I have some questions and concerns and was hoping some can answer them for me. I sent the all the necessary paper work on July/13/2012 to sponsor my wife from Afghanistan and yesterday I received this by a from of an email:

Dear MUSHTABA HASHIMI:
This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on
behalf of Khatera Hashimi.
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.

with this email I also received my UCI#, now my first question is is it normal how fast it was processed here in Canada or is it within normal time?
2) What does PPR and AOR stand for?
3) I know no one can say for sure but how much more time will take in Islamabad that saying if all the paper work is correct and nothing is missing or questioned?
4) I cant access the "my application status" on the CIC website, i enter my UCI# and i have tried both my name and birthday and my wife's and still doesn't allow me to long in, any ideas?

5) and my final question is the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is that fee the needs to be paid when submitting the application? I made a payment of $1040.00 when I sent the paperwork and Im assuming thats the same fee?
Any info will help, as I have read some of you have been waiting months and years for ur spouse and I hope you can share your experience and knowledge with this newbie! thanks!

Most of the ppl have answered ur question. Sharing info tht i have.

1)ur process so far is normal in fact its faster. (My friend applied in June 2012 n is still waiting for approval to sponsor)

2)AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt and PPR-Passport Request. Below is a link to all the immigration acronyms

3)Yes no one can say for sure but from wht I have gathered it takes around 8-10 months for the initial file review. (A girl working at the high commission said the same thing).

4)We were not able to access our online status for some time. Try after one week it shud work. Btw u r clicking on identification type: “client id number/unique client identifier” rite??
With UCI# u can access online status with sponsor's name and details. When ur wife/husband receives the AOR they will get the isb file no “immigration file number/application number” and they will be able to access their online status using their details.

5)Yes u have paid the RPR Fee.

I did My Re Medical on July 18th and send Nikah khat and other documents on auguest 7th but still didnt get any reply....i hope this time they will send me PPR request but dont know when?

Thank u for replying, so what is the next step? when should I hear back again?

ur spouse will first get AOR n if ur case is crystal clear (read as u r LUCKY!!) ur spouse will get remedical(if the medical expires) / PPR

i got "Decision Made" 4 days before eid holidays but still waiting for passport and i was about to ask forum if any1 else in the same boat suddenly came across your quote: i think tomorrow or coming week might be a big days for us [GOD WILLING]

My dear Atif bro i have not recieved ppr yet.
My e case still shows " in process " i did my remedical at the end of july and still it doesnt show on e case that the medical results recieved. Is it posssible to get ppr before they get my medicale results?

Well next year I will be tieing the knot with my
beloved and right now I am just doing research about
the spousal application. MASHALLAH!!! the forum is very
helpful and your inputs/experiences are greatly appreciated.

I have few questions and I am hoping to get a detailed response
from you guys.

I know the waiting period for the spousal application to get processed is very long
so why most candidates do not apply for TRV? I understand for husband
cases it is not encouraged in our society for men to leave their
jobs for extended period of time just to visit their wives. But what I have
noticed from these forums is that many male sponsors have also not applyied
for TRV for their wives. Is it very hard to get a TRV or maybe its because of
socio/economic issues??????

Also once I file for my spousal application what should I do to ensure
that I get a TRV for my wife??????

Please give detail answers. Waiting anxiously for your replies.

Abdul nasir bro, while they get all the information about the applicant..like all required documents, police clearance, medical test then they will send PPR....so wait for few days, they will update ur Ecase information. after that they will send u PPR inshallah....i also did my Re medical on 18th july and it shows medical result recived....and yeah, about MP. it means Member of parliment..tell ur spouse to go and visit her Mp...the MP of that area will send email to CHC islamabad to get the update information about ur case...they will give u some more information about ur case...the chc of islamabad will reply them within 3 days...

Hi,
Did your MP asked for any permission letter or written permission from your spouse to access her information.
I contacted MP office , they asked me to get written permission from my wife , so we can access her case.
share your scenario. thanku,

They did not, but I did this the past about 4 months ago, I got everything I needed to know without any consent, thoughts? JazakAllah
BTW I think my MP Rocks he is really on top of things.
I am just waiting for the PPR request everything is good time since I filed the is exactly one year today.

TRV (I am assuming you're referring to visit visa) requires you to prove that you will return to your home country after the visa expires. Now what is the likely hood of a spouse returning back home to Pakistan? very unlikely, this method can be abused and probably was at some point. That is the most difficult part for spousals, to prove that they will return after the visit.

So you will have to show proof that you will return to Pakistan after your visit, that your wife isn't going to stop you or you aren't going to just hide and stay in Canada. That will involve showing things like a return ticket to Pakistan, a job you have that has given you a limited vacation time, a house you may own and a family that you need to return to etc.

I don't know if there is more involved, someone else may be able to shed some light...im just telling you from what I have heard & read.

I wont disclose the MP,s name here for obvious reasons. It is advised that you contact you local MP.
The only info I send them was my file # and names.

Also is yours a husband or wife case? Did you do just Nikkah or Shaddi?

wife case
application filed : 23rd april 2012
approval letter issued from mississauga on 2nd august 2012 and recd on 13th august 2012------ file transferred to islamabad.

but before receiving approval from mississauga i recd an envelop from ottawa-pilot project in whcih they had returned our rukhsati/walima pics and kept only our engagement pics/nikkah pics/post wedding pics.

does anyone have similar experience or know why that might have happened as ours was full marriage and i suppose rukhsati pics r much important in the spouse case.

hmmm... this is strange. Not sure what it means... I haven't come across a similar case before either.
