In email they said your file in queue for initial review. My file number start with letter "F". i think they are not sending AOR any more. after month or two email them to get the file number.

I just emailed them regarding AOR.. lets see if they reply by tomorrow !

I guess the reason they are no longer sending AOR (although it clearly says under the links on process under your ecase that an AOR is a part of process) is that they dont want to scare people with the retarded pace of the process and invite more criticism of Pakistani Canadian community, I am sure it was one of Jason Kenny's move before his biased Govt fell from power

I know ehh... I would be voting for the Liberals too. Lets hope these conservatives don't come back.

I got a reply from Islamabad on the same day but the email is the same general email they send to everyone. Atleast I got my wife's file #.

I just hope "F" series means faster processing times ... Inshallah :)

Also, heres some helpful info on the forum a while ago. I duno if its true or not......

application submission in Canada and CIC Missisauga approval: 3 to 4 weeks
CIC ISBD starts processing and visa is stamped (WIFE) - 9 to 12 months
IC ISBD starts processing and visa is stamped (Husband) - 12 to 16 months
re-medical, PCC and additional forms are submission and PPR request - 21/2 to 31/2 months
re-medical and passport (together) and PPR request - 4-6 Weeks
PPR submission and visa receival 15-25 days
CIC ISBD's application receival and interview request - 11 to 14 months

And here is how to interpret the email reply:

it is a generic email that they send everyone, but they have generic email for every stage your file is in. For Instance:
1) Your file is in que for initial review
2) Your file is in que for review
3) Your file is in background checks
4) Your file is in que to be reviewed by a decision making officer

Admit it guys we have all seen all these replies, now let me explain in details

1) Your file is in que for initial review (you will keep receiving this reply until they look at your file for the first time after sending AOR ~9-12 months)
Once they do the initial review of the file, they look for missing documents. Does the file need extra supporting documents?? Does the marriage look genuine?? If in doubt they send a letter asking for missing/supporting documents they also send supplementary forms and a few other ones we have seen on this forum. They send a letter and put a Bring Forward date on the file. Until that date comes:
2) Your file is in que for review (On the bring forward date the file is opened and gets checked for what was requested and if things requested are there it goes to the next stage could be the background checks, verification of documents etc. If the documents requested are not there, they put another BF date on the file.)
3) Your file is in background check (You will keep receiving this generic message until the background checks are done)
Hopefully everything is done by now except the background check and they notice the medical is expired and so is the PCC, here is another letter requesting those.
After they have everything they needed, the file status is:
4) Your file is in que to be reviewed by a decision making officer. This is where they decide if the person needs to go through an interview or if the VO is convinced or the file to be rejected.

Then the letter is sent whether the file is refused ( with appeal instructions) , or Passport request for VISA to be stamped or an interview call

The duration of this whole process depends on three factors:
1) Number of applications
2) Embassy Staff (Number of staff and efficiency)
3) Strength of your case (Sufficient proof of relationship and marriage)

The first two factors can't be controlled by us. But the third factor is definitely in our hands. Remember now they look for sufficient proof of relationship and not just a marraige certificate/Nikah nama and the wedding pictures. Now they are more interested in the constant communication proof such as Phone bills (call durations & text messaging), emails, online gift receipts, webchat logs (msn, skype). It would help your case if you show them pictures of cohabitation after marriage if there was any. Valima (Reception) pictures help alot along with Rukhsati pictures. Rukhsati is very important as now they don't issue a Visa without rukhsati.
So just make sure you submit all these proofs if you havn't submitted them yet. You can send out these supporting documents voluntarily. This way it becomes easier for you to prove the relationship to the decision making officer and you get your visa much quicker.
If the decision making officer doesn't think that enough proof of relationship is provided, he would put your file on the side and ask for more proof which would take alot of your time if you don't have it and in some cases you have to go for an interview if there is not enough evidence of relationship.
