I applied for caips in september 2011 and it stated application placed in queue.

InshAllah, I pray it will complete soon as well.

The first time i applied for caips, the report was received in 3 weeks. This time it has been 4 weeks so far with no report as of yet.

[Now this is a tricky situation where immigration interviewer try to play a trick so watch out....it happened with some people]

We have been told that you are going to go to Canada and once you get there, you will divorce your husband and sponsor your lover/Boy/girl Friend Who is living in India. If you tell us that you are going to do it, tell us your lovers name and we will issue both of you visa at the same time. This way you will not be away from your lover for long time and both of you will go to Canada together.

Make sure all the answers match each other

Here are the question a husband applicant was asked on interview.
What is your spouse's favorite food?
What is your spouse favorite fruit?
How does your spouse commute every day to the college or workplace.
What is your spouse cell no and home address. and name of your spouses' best friend in Canada.?
What is the closest city of your spouse's office or college?
What are you doing currently in Pakistan?
Did you have any fight with anyone –or have you been to the jail.?
Were you ever invited to any of the organization in Pakistan.?

These are just some general questions that you might want to prepare for before you head to the interview. Also make sure that you know the key dates by heart, DOBs, nikah/rukhsati/valima dates, the dates your spouse left from Pakistan for Canada, dates they went to visit Pakistan, honeymoon dates, where you went, how long was the stay, take the proofs with you such as hotel receipts, pictures. Where your spouse worked, the company name, date they started their job? etc etc. Make sure you know your spouse inside out basically every little details about them, eye colors to hair colors. I have seen people getting ask simple questions like these, and they do it on purpose because everyone know little things about their spouse. Just general questions like these and do lots of Dua and InshAllah everything will be fine..

Q-What is an interview like for security concerns?
According to an interview for security concerns went as the follows:
Security interview is quite difficult as they check your personality, talking behaviour, your dressing, your education.They also check your face expressions. If you are master's degree holder, they ask for all semesters subjects. Which subject you like? They ask which weapon you like and which weapon you use? Your politics views in the Pakistan and outside the country? Which political or other group you like? Driving rules? They also check your writing. A few question they ask about your spouse as well. However Terrorism is the main part and they ask question of different types and you must not get confused and lose the temper. Just relax. If you are confuse then you are doubted. Interview time for me was 1.5 hours non stop.

to the best of my knowledge, immigrant visa is non-extend able............it will expire on july 13 2012 in your case if you don't travel to canada up to then...........and if it expires, you have to submit a completely new application for the visa
then you can go to canada in Oct-Nov of 2014 or 2015 :'(

to the best of my knowledge, immigrant visa is non-extend able............it will expire on july 13 2012 in your case if you don't travel to canada up to then...........and if it expires, you have to submit a completely new application for the visa
then you can go to canada in Oct-Nov of 2014 or 2015 :'(

i could not been able to find any authentic information on CIC site regarding extension of immigrant visa except in a FAQs of this site but if any one knows any authentic information please let me know....

Can the expiry date on my Canada Immigration Visa be extended?

As a general rule, the expiry date on your Canada Immigration Visa will not be extended. Failure to land in Canada before the expiry date may result in the necessity of re-application.
