Welcome to the forum my friend,

This game needs alot of paitience. Now that CHC-Islamabad has received your file, now they will send an AOR (Acknowledge of Receipt) along with supp form. After that don't expect anything from them atleast until the next 10 months thats when your file will open next. After that, they will go through the initial process and see if they need anything else from you. If they do, you will be contacted and if they don't then you will hear something within 16 months if your case is straight forward. You will either get a Passport request, rejection letter or interview call. During this whole process they do send some form in the middle of the process to get your updated information. These day, female cases are taking anywhere from 14 - 18 months and male cases are anywhere from 18 - 24 months. So sit back and relax for a while you have a long wait my friend. Applicants from 2009 are still waiting for their process to finish still. Hope everything goes well for you guys.

Below are some general steps they go through just to give you an idea...

THNx bro for Helping, :-*

"Family Class: Spouses, Common-Law Partners, Conjugal Partners and Dependent Children Overseas

It is our goal, in 80% of overseas applications, to make a final decision within 12 months from the time the application is received at the Mississauga Case Processing Centre.
For any enquiries about this service standard, please contact a Canadian visa office."

I read it in CIC website under the sponsorship service standards.

I wonder why it is taking more than a year then??? 80% God I haven't seen 20% cases finalized in 1 year.

So it is counted from the date CPC-M receives our applications.

The estimated 16Months period for 80% cases on CIC website is after the file is transfrered to Islamabad + 35 days at CPC-M (currently working on applications received on January 13, 2011).

Then why is it taking everyone approx 12 months from ISB AOR????

That is my question too! Why it takes longer. Why they give wrong time line. Or maybe some cases are lucky.

^^ As marya mentioned, I am talking about CPC-M they are currently working on January 2011 applications. Processing time at CPC-M vary anywhere from 35 to 49 days. It changes everytime they update their website based on their work load. I havn't seen this process go over 50 days since 2009 so their process is pretty consistent.

By the way this 12 month time line for 80% of the spousal cases is the average processing time for the whole world. This is what they meant when they are saying that there goal is to process overseas application within 12 months... So in reality.. Pakistan and couple of other countries fall under the remaining 20%.

For example...
Country # 1 processing time is 5 months
Country # 2 processing time is 12 months
Country # 3 processing time is 16 months

Then the average processing time would be (4+12+16)/3 = (33/3) = 11 months

All the requirements are ok
Interview date is blank.
