changing status from visitor to study permit

I was wondering is it possible if I could change my status from visit visa to study permit what documents and things required and I am planning to study in Durham college....

You can - but your application will have to be either sent to the visa office responsible for your home country or to the US (it cannot be sent to a visa office within Canada). Don't send your application to the US visa office unless you already have a valid US visitor visa.

Unless you are ready to submit your application today, it's too late to apply for a study permit to begin your studies in January. So the earliest you would be able to start your studies would be either May or September.

To be approved, you need to show that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. For this reason there is often a higher chance of success if you apply while you are in your home country.
