Changing name on Ukrainian passport

Hey all,

I'm a Canadian citizen and my wife is a Ukrainian citizen in Canada on a study permit. We're planning on eventually applying for her residency, and I'm wondering if it's possible to have her name changed on her Ukrainian passport to her married name before doing so.

Does anyone know if can she request a new passport with her married name from the Ukrainian embassy in Canada, or does this require a trip back home? Does it take a long time to process?

Yes she can change her name on her passport as long as you have the marriage certificate to do so

Yes she can change it here at the embassy and she doesn't need to travel back home to do it. Not sure how long this process will take but maybe it would say on the website
