Changing from CWP (LMIA) to SOWP

Hi all!

About to apply for SOWP and am currently on a CWP (LMIA). I've read a few posts saying that I still have to stay with the same employer until my SOWP is approved which is fine.

I'm just wondering about the steps after? Can I quit my current job and look for any job once the SOWP is approved? Do I need to update Service Canada about my status of getting the SOWP and ask them to change the status from CWP?
