Hello everyone. I need urgent help as this has been stressing me out too much.

Institute 1 = university

I originally came to Canada under a program offered jointly by Institute 1 and a flight college. The program leads to a Bachelor of Commerce in Aviation, with 84 credits completed at Institute 1 and 36 credits earned through flight training at the flight college, either over 3 years or in a consecutive block depending on weather/training needs.

I completed one year (30 credits) at Institute 1, and then spent two years at the flight college, where I completed the full 36 credits required for the degree. However, I’m now considering not returning to Institute 1 and instead applying for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) based on my training at the flight college (DLI Approved) so I can start working as a pilot.

Note:
I can’t apply for a new study permit, since I’ve already graduated from the flight college as that’s part of the program before returning to the university portion of the program. Now that I’ve completed my flight training, I’d prefer to begin working as a pilot instead of going back to the university. I haven’t violated any rules. I didn’t inform IRCC of change of institutions because my original plan was to re-enroll at Institute 1 this year, but after investing so much time and money into flight training, I’ve changed my mind. I’m just unsure how to proceed from here and would greatly appreciate any advice.

NOTE 2: my study permit says
DESIGNATED LEARNING INST-NB
BUSINESS/COMMERCE
and it expires 2026 sept.

I’d really appreciate any guidance on whether this is possible and how it might affect my study permit or PGWP application. I’m hoping to apply for my PGWP based on my graduation from the flight college, but I’m confused because I originally came to Canada through a university-based program. Is it still valid to apply through the flight college in this situation?

Your study permit mentions nothing about aviation but attending a business program. So not sure how you would be eligible for a PGWP. If you never informed IRCC of changing DLIs to just the flight school (assume Moncton) then yes it is a problem. You are expected to complete studies at the business school.
