Per new checklist, it specifies: original police certificate or clearances from each country where you were present for a total of 183 days or more in the four (4) years immediately before the date of your application.

So I believe it would be: if you submit your application on 25OCT17, the time taking into account would be 25OCT13 - 25OCT17.

Many thanks for your reply.
I was out from Oct 25 2013 to Jan 19 2014. Came to canada on Jan 20 2014. Became PR on July 20 2014. So i guess i was only out for 3 months from last 4 years.

They messed up the form. They will have to provide a printable one. I'm just going to download it every few hours until I can print.

Check out this link -

It tells you how to print the pdf when print is disabled. however, if you try it this way, the pages will have the "save/reset/print" on top of each page

Hi all!

I got married this December 2016.

I was wondering if I can change my name once I apply for citizenship (I'm eligible to apply early January 2018) so that on my citizenship certificate and then passport I will have my husband's surname. I haven't changed my family last name on my PR card and passport though after I got married.

Can somebody shed me some light, thanks a lot!

I’m not going to risk that. Who knows, they might change the entire form once the upload the new one. It’s best to wait until they fix the form. I’ve been waiting since 2014, I can wait a few hours or a day for them to fix it.

True

I am not suggesting to use this hacked way to send your application to IRCC.

Some people like to print the pages, proof read and then make sure everything is correct. For those folks, this is a good way to have it printed

if you change your name after submitting application for citizenship, still you have to inform about the change of name, because your file will still be under review and any changes to your personal information such as name, address has to be updated while ur application is still in process.

Personally, I would do it before you apply. Definitely, not during as it causes delays. If you know you are going to change it, I would do it now then submit. The forms ask for all previous names so if some dates or trips are listed under your maiden name, they will still find you. I would change your name on the PR card and passport from your home country before. I think it would be easier.

I have a question on the language requirements (question 15 of citizenship form and the document checklist you need to submit)

I am applying for a senior (age greater than 54) - hence I know that the language requirement is not needed.

I am a bit puzzled by the document checklist - the top section (Where it says "place a tick mark once you have included in application"). Do I put a tick mark next to "Photocopy of proof of English/French" and then attach a page that says the applicant does not require this. Anybody in the same boat??

As I understand the document checklist, the top portion lists all "required documents" and the bottom portion lists only those that might be specific to the applicant.

Hey Guys what about Question 10 , do we need to put in residence address for vacation we went to (like home country) within the eligibility period?

Hey, I landed in 2014 and was unemployed and then joined school in 2014 August till 2015 December and was searching for job (unemployed till 2016 April), I filed taxes for 2014,2015 and 2016. My question is for years 2014, and 2015? Was i required to file taxes as I was unemployed and student? Do i need to tick required or unrequired for the two years of unemployment and school?
