Hello

Just looking for some advice in regards to OWP during common-law sponsorship.

I initially sent off my PR and OWP application when I was in status in Canada

Unfortunately it got returned due to a missing signature after my IEC visa had expired and I lost my implied status.

I resent everything off, this time with the application to RESTORE status as worker. (I know most people restore status as a visitor first, but I decided to just try straight for worker as i'd heard it can go either way)

At that time I did not have status in the country.

But over Christmas I left and re-entered as a visitor. So now I do have status.

Should I inform someone of my change of status, or will they be able to see when processing my application?

Or will telling them I left and re-entered affect my application?

I just really want to get my OWP asap, so wondering what the best move would be?

I sent my application on the 28th November but don’t have AOR yet.

Time Line for Clarification

October 15th – application for PR & OWP sent (in status)

November 5th – full application returned (out of status)

November 28th – application for PR & restoration of status as worker sent (out of status)

December 16th – left Canada to return to UK for Christmas

January 8th - returned to Canada on valid ETA as a visitor (in status)

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated

Well, you've likely complicated things a bit.

If they check CBSA records before processing your restoration application, your restoration will be refused because you left the country.

Because you then had no status when you had re-submitted the OWP application, that will be refused.

You have status now as a visitor.

Thanks for your speedy reply!

if they do refuse my owp application will I be able to send another one now that I am in status on a visitor visa and have a PR applicaiton in process?
