Hi,

Recently I got married. If my wife change her name, how long will it take to change her name in the passport in India and what is the procedure.

She shoud contact the Passport office with her pasport and fill up an application. She need to produce the original marriage certificate to change her maiden name. Depending on the passsport office she can get it done within a week, if the documentation is satisfied by them.

Does anyone know if it is a problem for the Sponsor to change their name?

We didn't apply with my married name, as we didn't want to wait to get back passport etc before filing. Can I (the sponsor) go ahead and change my name now that I have been approved and the case has moved onto the visa office in Accra?

Will this cause any problems?
