Hi everyone,

My BOWP (Bridging Open Work Permit) application was recently refused due to a missing confirmation of nomination. We proactively submitted the missing document via webform, but unfortunately, it was too late. I have already reapplied for restoration + BOWP on March 16, 2025.

My spouse also applied for a BOWP as my dependent, and her application is still in process. We submitted a webform through her account as well, attaching the confirmation of nomination that was missed in my first application and the new confirmation of application for my Restoration + BOWP.

We already received AOR (Acknowledgment of Receipt), and our PR application has passed the medical exam (Last update is Medical exam passed, March 2025)— it just seems to be taking a while for further progress. Respective MP just called and they said our PR application is on a "Non-routine" file.

My spouse’s current work permit is only valid until June 8, 2025, or until a decision is made — whichever comes first.

Questions:

  • What are the chances that her BOWP will get refused too, just because mine got refused the first time?
  • Will they just wait for my BOWP + Restoration decision first before they gave her a decision?
  • Does the submission of the missing document to her file help her case?
  • Has anyone here experienced something similar? If yes, what was/is you best course of action here?

We would really appreciate any advice or shared experiences. Thank you!
