My short story:
Came to Canada as a student, didn't graduate and thanks to an excellent advice i sought refugee protection. Obviously that was refused, so was the HC application after that and almost 10 years after coming to Canada I was finally deported in 2011.
For the last couple of years in Canada I had a great job with a Canadian company that liked me so much they kept me and arranged an L1 visa for me. I worked for them for 3 years in the US and then was offered a chance to manage their EU branch where I still work 5 years later.
I am really well integrated here (married, kids born here, own a house) and have been making a well above average salary in Germany and US for the past 8 years.
As an L1 holder my green card would be almost guaranteed but I am happy in Europe and do not wish to move. That being said, I still miss Canada and my many friends there and would love to visit. What do you think of my chances of getting a visitor's visa?
