As a sponsor i need to give copies of my canadian permanent residency card and my passport. My passport is costa rican so i know that, that copy needs to be certified by a lawyer. But since the residency is canadian, does it too need to be certified since its just a copy?

You don't need to submit a copy of your passport. Just submit a regular copy of your PR card.
thank you and okay, soi dont need to get that notarized or anything special done to it?
Follow the checklist. If it needed to be certified, the checklist would state that.
