Hi, Im a part time worker in a coffee shop and my income before pandemic was about 1000$ .Right know I go to work and I get the same income ( sometimes it will be around 1200 $)
Can I apply for cerb ?or is it too risky , because i've always received the same income and pandemic hasn't changed any thing for me but in another hand sometimes my income is less than 1000.
I want to know what to do please tell me if you know .

You can fill for it, but don't spend the money wait for some time before spending or live it in your bank account if they ask for it you send it back if they don't then you can spend it

If your income was affected by pandemic, you may apply. Provided that you are not making more than $1000 (gross or before taxes).

If you were not affected by pandemic, then you are not eligible.

Some people would do that. They would get the money since everyone who applies will get it. But later on they will check and see if you're actually qualified and if they see that you're not then they will have you return the money back to them.

Everyone who applies gets it. There are no real checks happening right now. They can expect that when the app is reviewed down the line and CRA sees that their income wasn't reduced by the pandemic and they therefore didn't qualify, they will be required to pay it back plus interest.

Your coworkers probably saw that everyone was getting the money, so applied. That was a poor choice . They owe taxes on that money, if the Government deems them not eligible on the back end checks, they’ll owe it all back. Do they have thousands sitting in their bank account , ready to be paid back ?
If they don’t pay back the funds when asked, the CRA will just hold back any benefits or refunds they’d normally get, until the amounts paid in error get repaid
So if they normally get GST checks , tax refunds , they can kiss those goodbye

In case it wasn’t clear you don’t qualify for CERB and will need to pay it back with interest if you apply. You should tell your friends that everyone got approval so getting the money doesn’t mean they were entitled to the money and they should expect to be paying back the money. They should really stop any future payments so they have to payback less money.
