Not eligible.

Also, you were allowed to work full-time as soon as you applied for your PGWP AND you can continue to work on an expired SIN without issue.
no I can’t because first they refused my study permit extension so i went on restoration status so am not allowed to work

Unfortunately you do not qualify for CERB since you lost your job for reasons other than COVID-19.

Hi All,

My wife is currently unable to find a job due to COVID-19 and she has an Open Work Permit. She has not worked before in Canada, and she recently moved here in January. Would she be eligible for CERB?

Thanks,

Thanks,
1. No, she didn't lose her job because of the virus, she couldn't find one.

Hello,

I have question. I lost my job in December 2019 and haven't applied for any benefits like EI. After this, i was interviewing by couple of employer and unfortunately i haven't selected. Now its hard to get job in COVID Crisis and i am run out from my savings. Do i am eligible to get any CERB benefits??
I am PGWP holder and have more than 5000 income in last year (2019).
Can anyone advise me, Please?

Thank you.

Eligibility:
• Age more than 15 years old
• Working income no less than $5000 in 2019 or in the last 12 months
• Tax resident in Canada
Not eligible for CERB:
• If currently receiving any EI, the person won’t be eligible for CERB. If the EI will be finished by Oct 3 2020 and the person still doesn’t have any income due to the Covid19, he would be eligible to apply CERB after EI payment. But at this moment, he won’t be eligible for CERB.
• Hasn’t laid off
• Voluntarily dismiss from work

Different situations should be aware:
• If the person recently applied EI and hasn’t received any EI payment, their application will be automatically transferred to CERB.
• If the person was recently laid off and hasn’t applied EI, and the 28-day application period hasn’t passed before April 6, 2020, he should apply CERB first then EI.
• EI and CERB can’t be received at the same timed but can be received separately.
• Working permit holder with no less than $5000 can be eligible for CERB.

Extra CCB $300 per child per month, starting in May
Low income will receive extra GST/HST credit: single parent $400 per month / couple $600 per month

You don’t qualify. You had to have lost your job DUE to covid, you didn’t

My Postgraduate Work permit was valid for one year and It will expire by May 27 2020. I only have 6 months of work experience. What are my chances of extension. Current CRS is 459 under federal skilled. Even if it is just for 4 to 6 months. I am still working as an Essential worker. Construction Safety but my Company does not want to give me an LMIA.
Please what are my chances

Okay so what about applying for this? IMM 5710 E : Application to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in Canada as a worker. Since I have a Job offer and I am still working currently? Or what qualifies me to apply for an actual work permit?

Your employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA in order for you to be able to apply for a closed work permit.

Okay thank you. What If I want to consider an open work permit? Since my PGWP was open as well.
Open work permits are only granted in very specific circumstances.

Have you received ITA through Express Entry and submitted your complete application? Have you received a provincial nomination? Anything else that would qualify you for an open work permit?

The fact you hold PGWP now does not qualify you for an open work permit.

Hello! I have a question - I meet all other eligibility requirements of CERB, except I am unsure about the 'reside in Canada' one.
I was on a temporary permit that expired in April. Before expiration, I applied for a new work visa and had a biometrics appointment but it got cancelled due to Covid. I am now on implied status and my SIN has expired. Does this exclude me from getting CERB?

Thanks!
