Hello Everyone who is looking forward to take CELPIP General-LS Test. Here is my test experience and advise to others:

First of all don't think that CELPIP is a easy test to walkover. One must have basic grammatical knowledge in English and has ability to understand speaker's questions. In Listening part there is total 45 questions to answer. First few questions of identifying correct picture are relatively easy. But later all the questions has 4 option and 2 option's meaning is almost similar which is very confusing if one does not pay 100% attention to listen speaker no matter how good in English will face difficulties.

A few moment of unmindful on listening the speaker's question can create the silly mistakes in answering. Also the timing issue. Total 30 min to answer all the 45 questions which is also the reason for silly mistakes. Will have to go through the questions and answers very quickly and does not get ample time on thinking much to determine the right answer.

On the Speaking part must have ability to understand speaker's statement or questions and at least will have to try to speak and make sentences for every question within 30-40 second. With little fluency in English 2H score can be achieved and there is total 16 questions to answer within 30 minutes. However, paying attention tot he speaker and with little fluency 3H or 4L can be achieved.

So my feeling is that, CIC is aware of that if an applicant unless has high school level diploma can't pass the CELPIP test as the questions and answers are designed with high standard English. If an applicant has ability to understand the CELPIP speaker's question then it is understood that applicant has ability to communicate in English even in low proficiency High proficiency often required for higher level academic studies..

So the bottom line is, CIC made citizenship law tougher for applicants who does not have English education background from their home country.
