It is so nice of you to reach out and help others with this celban prob. Yes, im one of those trying my luck to find available resources for the celban exam. They are very limited thus making me anxious for my upcoming exam. Can you help me on this? Do you have any materials, tips and advises for me esp for the speaking and writing part. Thank you so much in advance. :)

I don't have review materials, I used the online readiness self assessment and borrowed the hard copy in the library. For writing part: you will have 90 Seconds to preview the assessment record before viewing a video of an interaction between a nurse and a patient. You will then view the video scenario. As you follow the scenario, fill out the nursing assessment record based on the assessment interview you see on the video tape. Record main ideas and relevant supporting details in point form, not complete sentences. After the video is finished, you will have 90 seconds to check your answers. Tip for this: what you hear and see on the video tape in listening part, is the same in writing part 1.

Writing Task 2

In this task you will be given a scenario and will be asked to write one or two paragraphs describing the situation. You will be required to include a number of key words or phrases in your answer. You will be given 15 minutes to complete this task. Tip for part 2: use the key words or phrases given, do not fabricate ideas... Mine was to make an incident report...it was a fall incident. My introduction was when it was happened...Don't ever forget your signature or initial at the end...with your title RN, because i forgot mine. But still I made it, thanks God.

In speaking part: always introduce yourself as nurse in taking history and in giving discharge instructions. The assessor will surely argue with one of the discharge instructions, just explain that it would be the best for her and suggest home care if needed. Don't forget to ask before discharge if he has someone to take her home. And no lifting if the case is surgery. Mine case is bowel resection surgery.
Give your best opinion when asked... For example, what is your opinion on a One Child Policy; transportation.

You're welcome and good luck!

Thank you again SPMH. By the way, did you take any review courses for Celban? I found some available courses online but I find it too expensive for me. I hope and pray that the limited free resources available will help me get through this. I only used the ones from the library and the online readiness as well. Hoping for the best for all of us who will take this exam.

By the way SMPH, about the writing part 2. Is there any approximate no. of words for the incident report writing? I know for IELTS, they have minimum limits of words. Got no idea with the celban writing.

Try CelbanPrep by Kim. I was not able to use their resources because it came to my email inbox too late for my exam date.

No, I didn't. It is too expensive for me, too. Just keep on practicing the available resources...youtube is of big help, too.

No approximate number of words, make two paragraphs, about 6 sentences. Make sure that you use all the given words or phrases. Remember the time, 15minutes only.
