Hi everyone,

I am planning to apply under CEC. I have 1.3 months of Canadian experience. However, in that time frame , i have switched two jobs. I have a gap of 2 months between leaving the first job and joining the 2nd. I am eligible for CEC, but since my experience is non-continuous will CRS allocate me with 40 points for the Canadian work experience.

Anyone with similar situation please share your experience.(if you guyz got those points or not with gap in employment)

You don’t need continuous experience with CEC.

I would like to know as well . I came to Canada Dec 16 2020 and as of now i have 1516 hours ( Dec 1 2021 ) regular excluding overtime. But i have them with 2 different employees and with a gap in between jobs as i had issues with first employer and IRCC knows about that . But at first job i had a week 40 + hours , a week 18 hours or under 30 the other , or nothing the next. As soon as i have 1560 regular working hours will it be enough to apply for CEC ?

THANK YOU

First, you need one year of Canadian experience. If you started Dec 16 and you worked full time that whole year, then you will have one year and be eligible if you have 1560 hours. You don’t count overtime. All on the IRCC CEC website.

Thank you for your reply .

I have read the website but it says u need 1560 hours , 30 hours per week and we dont count over that . It also says that there can be gaps of employment. All i wanna know if for instance one week i worked 40 hours and the other 20 , do i count as 60 hours or 50 hours .

It's a bit confusing.

Thank you .

You don’t need continuous experience with CEC.

Thanks for your reply..
However, my question is not if i am eligible or not. Since I have a gap of 2 months in between 2 jobs whether I would get points or not.
I saw a post where some people posted that gaps are allowed in CEC, but in case the gaps are in months we do not get points.

Any insights appreciated.

You can have gaps. It doesn’t have to be continuous.

You count 30 for full time and 20 for par time.
