Hi all,
I had my first application for PR rejected due to PCC problems. Now I'm reapplying and wanted to ask if people have an idea if CEC or FSW are currently being processed quicker? I'm eligible for both, but want to get this through as quick as possible, due to remaining time on current visa, and trying to avoid a BOWP.

Thanks,

I'm not sure you are able to choose...
I was qualified for both, and invited under FSW. If you declined the FSW invitation, you might wait longer for the CEC one, which will prolong your waiting time.
Everyone wants PR asap, however, it is really a waiting game.

Somebody posted an article earlier that starting next draw IRCC will prioritize CEC, so if you are qualified for both, you should receive invitation for CEC. Additionally you could set funds that you are bringing to Canada with you to $0 which should automatically disqualify you for FSW.

From what I know, if you are eligible for both, you get selected under FSW. If you reduce funds below threshold, then only CEC. So that is how you 'choose' options. I'm trying to figure out which seem to getting PPR faster currently. I know it's hard to tell, but from looking around, the september, october AOR pages, it seems CEC do better.

Hi,

Would you mind sharing your experience on why your file was rejected? What kind of PCC problems?

Thanks

CIC has recently announced a change to that - people who are eligible for both will now be selected for CEC...

That's true from next draw onwards.

So those who are eligible for both and prefer themselves to be evaluated under CEC category should reject it if they got ITA under FSW, so that in their next draw if selected they will be evaluated under CEC category.

I had an older FBI PCC, which I submitted with my application. I believe it covered my time in the US. I was in the US after it was issued as a tourist for several months, so to be on the safe side, I applied for another FBI PCC. I included that I had applied for a new one in the application. The case officer rejected it, because he or she believed that the time in the US as a tourist counted as being resident there, and that I had not provided enough proof for my new FBI PCC. They did not ask for any proof. Just cancelled my application as incomplete.
